Child support payback for man who cannot conceive

An Australian man is to receive a child support repayment after he discovered that he could not conceive and could therefore not be the father of the child he was supporting.

According to the Australian Daily Telegraph, the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, only recently discovered that he was unable to have children. He had spent the last nine years thinking that the child, the result of a one-night stand, was his.

The Australian Federal Magistrates Court ordered the child's mother to repay the full $3730.

She had been negligent rather than deceitful, said the Federal Magistrate.
