Online Flirting Proves to be Grounds for Divorce

A court in France has granted a husband’s request for a divorce after he claimed his wife had been unfaithful by flirting with other men online, reports the Daily Mail.

The couple had been together for 18 years and had three children together. The wife had never physically met any of the men she talked to online, and said she was suffering from depression at the time she visited the dating website.

However, the family court judge in Aix-en-Provence considered her actions to be sufficient grounds to justify ending the marriage and granted the divorce.

The lawyer representing the husband explained: “French law states that spouses owe each other mutual respect, fidelity and help. It was in this notion of respect that the wife had failed,” reports the Daily Mail.
