Survey finds couples happier in the country

A recent survey has revealed that couples living in the countryside have happier and healthier marriages or relationships than those living in the city, and are less likely to have a divorce or other relationship breakdown, reports the Telegraph.

Only around 8% of rural couples say they are unhappy in their current relationship, compared with 21% of urban dwellers. Relationships of rural couples also tend to last longer, with 62% of them lasting at least five years, while only 42% of city based relationships reach that landmark.

However, the survey also found that countryside dwellers are more likely to cheat on their partners, with 21% saying they would cheat if they could be sure of not getting caught, while only 16% of city dwellers admitted that they would do the same.
