Dunfermline domestic abuse court to be made permanent

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal service has announced that the specialist domestic abuse court at Dunfermline Sheriff Court will become a permanent feature after the conclusion of successful pilot programme, reports the Journal Online.

The purpose of the court is to ensure the better protection of domestic abuse victims, and to bring cases to court quickly. The pilot programme started in November 2010, and since then the court has heard more than 300 cases.
